Besides a decent compensation, job satisfaction is the biggest occupational gain one may derive. This depends on three elements, namely understanding the scope of work, having the skill for delivering on it and being comfortable with the work environment. If all three be present, loving the job is an added bonus beyond the original bargain. While the first two elements are easy to understand, the third is a bit nebulous. Put simply, “being comfortable with the work environment” is – managing oneself well, a healthy give and take with one’s team and peers, and the trickiest of all, a healthy give and take with one’s boss leading to intangible appreciation. By way of clarification, the boss is one who leads, develops and evaluates you.
